I was on Pinterest again-so what’s new? I came across a quote that someone who has also lived my life had to have made. Curious how that happened. I read it-and the cartoon light bulb over my head just flashed on-really bright- like one of those Christmas Light Crazed people’s holiday yard displays. I also saw a cool back ground method that bore looking into. I spread acrylic paint in three colors across both sides of the journal, then messily spread it out. Then I closed the journal and smooshed, kind of a lot. Peel the pages apart-and behold…a really nifty background with lots of movement and random color mixing-love it! Kinda like the Rorschach Ink blots.
The crown is from some shiny gold printed paper that was lost from it’s folder-so I don’t know where it came from. The flourishes were from the dollar bin in some store. I don’t remember where-I was out and about with some Meerkat Mixed Media friends, and I don’t always remember every place we mobbed. But who could pass up black glitter flourishes?!? The shading is a great technique involving outlining with a black water color pencil-then coming back with a waterbrush and activating the color. My favorite copper leafing pen kept everything connected.
